Prof. Murali K. Mantrala is Sam M. Walton Distinguished Professor of Marketing, Chair, Marketing Department, at University of Missouri. He is one of the leading contributors to the field of two-sided platform marketing, sales resource allocation, compensation design, and retail pricing strategies. One of his major contribution includes the development of scientific algorithm for retail markdown pricing and inventory optimization. He has received the Distinguished Research Achievement Award of the Trulaske College of Business twice within the last ten years. In 2010, Prof. Mantrala received the Humboldt Research Award for lifetime collaborative research from the Alexander Humboldt Foundation in Berlin, Germany.
